Azul has now opened a private cosmetic surgery center in Fort Myers and is looking for an experienced and passionate certified anesthetist to join the surgical team at the new state-of-the-art facility. The ideal candidate for the anesthetist position is highly motivated with a passion for the beauty and wellness industry and is ready to serve as a brand ambassador for Azul.
The position involves providing anesthesia for office-based surgery (OBS) to patients undergoing outpatient facial and body plastic surgery. You will be responsible for patient anesthesia management during pre-op, intra-op, and post-operative. Daily activities include:
- Mastery knowledge of moderate IV sedation and deep sedation
- Handling of pre-anesthesia evaluations including but not limited to assessing patient’s medical history and developing an appropriate anesthesia plan.
- Obtaining informed consent for anesthesia.
- Inducing and maintaining sedation and general anesthesia utilizing appropriate oral and intravenous anesthetic drugs and controlled substances.
- Selecting/inserting noninvasive monitoring modalities.
- Responding to emergencies using airway management and other techniques.
- Facilitating emergence and recovery from anesthesia
- Maintaining an appropriate anesthesia record.
- Ability to work well with all types of individuals including patients, family, staff, and physicians.

Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited anesthetist program.
- Current State license.
- Current liability insurance.
- Current CPR and ACLS certification.
- Plastics experience preferred.

Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires prolonged, frequent standing, sitting, and walking. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires normal or corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires hearing, vision, and manual dexterity to operate anesthesia equipment, ventilator, regulators, gas cylinders, pulse-oximeter, EKG monitor, defibrillator, irrigation equipment, intra-venous equipment and supplies, and stethoscope. Requires exposure to communicable diseases, blood, or body fluids.
